Bill T. Hicks Scholarship Program

If the next step of your journey includes a college, university, or trade institution, we'd love to help start your journey. We're awarding six $5,000 cash scholarships.

THE PROCESS: ROUND 1

Start with your application.

The 2025 application is open now through Oct. 31, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. EST.

Check your eligibility.

Applicants must:

	Be a Y-12 Credit Union member if selected as a scholarship recipient
	Graduate from high school in 2025
	Be accepted into an accredited two-year college, four-year college or accredited trade school with enrollment beginning summer or fall semester of 2025
	Have a minimum GPA of 2.5

THE PROCESS: ROUND 2

Submit a photo, video essay, and transcripts.

Selected applicants will be notified by Nov. 1, 2024 for the second round. Submissions are due by Jan. 10, 2025.

File Submission Details

	Submissions must be uploaded to Box by 11:59 p.m. EST on Jan. 10, 2025.
	Video essay prompt will be provided upon notification of second round selection.
	The video essay must be five to ten minutes long.
	Please name files in the format of FirstNameLastName_File (i.e. JohnSmith_Video).

Judging Criteria

Applicants will be judged on:

	Academic achievement
	Extracurricular and community activities and involvement
	Content and creativity of video essay
